Another short update!
about 1 year ago – Fri, Sep 15, 2023 at 12:24:37 PM

Hello, I'm back with some updates. Let's jump straight into it:

  • A few of you who had pre-ordered the book via Backerkit, back when it was still possible, weren't able to add any addons to their cart. After a few days of going back and forth with Backerkit's customer support we learned that we needed to create a new pledge level to solve this. So all of you who backed via Backerkit can now join this new pledge level, if you want to add addons. You should have receive an email about this from Backerkit (but only those of you who pre-ordered via Backerkit, since the rest aren't affected by this issue). If you aren't planning on getting any addons just ignore it, complete the survey if you haven't, and you're done!
  • Speaking of completing surveys, there are still a few hundred of you who haven't done it. Remember that we're locking orders this Sunday the 17th. We will then charge said orders on Monday 18th. I know it's a bit hasty but we really don't want to have the books waiting in storage forever, when they could be in your hands.
  • The printer is ready to send us our books. There are two shipments: one that will go to the US for the distribution of books in all the Americas, and the other one coming to me in Spain, for shipping to the rest of the world. If everything goes as planned, I imagine I'll be getting the books in early October. They're sending them by truck, and they have to cross all Europe, but I don't think it will take longer than that. Unfortunately, the books shipped to the US are definitely going to take longer: they must first take them to port by truck, then ship them in a container across the Atlantic, and then again via truck from the East coast to the West coast of the US, which is were we have our distribution hub. I've never done anything like this before so I don't know how long it will take, but I'm assuming a few weeks at the very least. This means that it is very likely that I'll be done with my side of the fulfillment before the books are in the US. I guess this is no surprise for those of you who are used to backing stuff, the closer you are to the production and shipping points, the faster you get your stuff.

So that's it for now, I'll be back soon to let you know that we've locked orders and all that stuff. Please, if you want the book fulfill the survey, and don't hesitate contacting me at [email protected] if you have any issues!

Quick update regarding the pledge manager
about 1 year ago – Sat, Sep 09, 2023 at 02:10:15 AM

Hello, everyone, I just wanted to comment on a couple of issues you guys are asking me about frequently, regarding the pledge manager.

- First of all, some of you are surprised at the cost of international shipping. Those of you backing in the US and the EU are getting reasonable prices because that's were our shipping hubs are. Unfortunately for the rest, shipping prices are pretty high, and as you can imagine, there's little I can do about it. I'm actually losing some money with shipping outside EU/US, because we decided to round it down to 40€, instead of the 40-44€ actual price. Please do keep in mind though that this is a big book: the standard edition weighs over 1 kg, and the Murgo is 1.5 kg. We are not shipping a zine here! All international orders are being shipping via DHL or UPS, which guarantees you'll get them fast and safe.

- We've had an issue with upgrading from digital to physical but it's been solved now. Keep in mind though that we've limited this to 100 books, because we needed to close the number of books that are being shipped to the US, and the printer can't be changing it once we give them a final number. They are sending me a big bunch of books and the rest go to the US, and those pallets must be sealed and ready to go ASAP.

- Apparently those of you who backed the game after the KS campaign was over are having issues accessing the addons. I wrote Backerkit about it because it all seems to be fine on our end. As soon as I hear back from them, I'll let you know. Thank you for your patience!

- We intend to close the pledge manager later next week. This is to ensure the printer sends the books to us ASAP, which means we get them sooner, and therefore you do as well. So far, a little bit over 50% of backers have completed the survey, so please, don't forget to do so once you get the chance!

That's it for now, thanks once again for all the support and patience!
